Voiceless communication is a new move. The strange sounding high of technology is what Texas Instrument has churned in order to revolutionize the world of communication. A device which on wearing helps communicate without the use of voice - The Audeo – a crafted interface for communication without the need of motor control or speech. The brain waves and signals are captured by this device and then assembled close to the user’s vocal chord, which on the effort to speak is transmitted across to the voice box – the neurological signals or the information then travels to the nearby computer for interpretation and finally results in a face-to-face interaction or communication over the phone. It’s thus obvious that the Audeo, will enable voiceless communication either face-to-face or via phone, thereby offering a life-changing experience for those who suffer with neurological disorders or lack the speech ability, allowing many more insightful thoughts to change the world through that very communication.
Based on an ultra-low power MSP430 microcontroller technology, and set for a release sometime towards the end of 2008, the Audeo beyond innovative speech technology has also been tested to wirelessly control an electric wheelchair. This novel technology is a sheer souvenir for all the unfortunate geeks out there, and more so motivating given the device’s eight hours capacity on a single charge.
