Samsung Electronics has developed a surveillance camera with mega-zoom capabilities. The innovative surveillance system is being shown for the first time at the ISC West in Las Vegas which opened this week.
The SCC-C4307 has a 1/4" ex-view with a whopping 32X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom which gives the new system an overall zoom capability of 320X, which is the highest in this category.
With its WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) function, the camera is able to take clear images even under extreme backlight conditions and where the variation in the illumination source is intense. It's automatic Day/Night function switches from color mode during the day to B/W mode at night and provides continuous observation.
This versatile camera supports the RS-485 communication interface as well as a wired control. The RS-485 control can be used to control 128 cameras by one DVR or SSC-1000/SSC-2000 controllers.
Smaller installations can use the SCC-RC130 or the single camera, wired remote system which controls the zoom and focus functions and access the menu.
GVI Security is already using the high-end system for its surveillance solutions and are expected to be joined by more, given the highly cost-efficient nature of the new system.
Samsung has revolutionised the surveillance industry and has been successful at re-writing the basics for surveillance industry.
