If you thought texting didn’t really serve high-tech purposes, you could be just wrong. A pilot and 4 people’s lives were saved thanks to text messaging. The airplane had lost all avionics and when the pilot called the air traffic control, his phone suddenly stopped working. That is exactly when the controller text messaged the pilot and guided him to safe landing. The mobile audio communication can be intermittent especially when you are flying at high altitudes, and that is when text messages take the front seat. This shows how texting could be used in circumstances where audio signals can’t be sent through.
