Terason t3200 ultrasound system - A MacBook laptop with ultrasound features for breast screening

An alarming statistic reveals that breast cancer comprises 22.9 percent of all non-melanoma skin cancers in women, throughout the whole world. But on the positive side, early diagnosis can push the survival rates to a relatively safe 98 percent. Taking that into account, a company by the name of Terason (based in Burlington, Massachusetts) has ingeniously contrived and commercially launched a ultrasonography (ultrasound) system based conveniently around a Apple MacBook Pro.

Christened as the Terason t3200 Ultrasound System, this contraption will be used for providing easy sharing of images and access to an EMR. On the other hand it can also be used as a regular laptop with 320GB internal hard drive, a built in DVD/CD±R/W drive, and an internal storage capacity for 250,000+ images. Additionally other features will include storage of static images and dynamic clips and their selectable formats would be in AVI, BMP and JPEG and DICOM formats. Whereas, the imaging modes will come in - B-Mode, M-Mode, Power Doppler, Color Doppler and Pulsed Wave Spectral Doppler.

According to the company:

Image quality and clarity for assessment and visualization of detected abnormalities is essential in breast screening. Terason's OmniBeam™ increases the spatial detail and accuracy of curved surfaces while TeraVision™ II provides refined texture and detail.

Breast-specific presets, custom exams, easy documentation and a customizable report page result in faster patient throughput.

X-Site probes with advanced crystal technology, coupled with Terason's unique DDR™ uniform imaging capabilities, combine to create your one-probe portable system solution.
