In an effort to revive the concept of boomboxes, TDK has introduced a pair of boomboxes, in 3 Speaker and 2 Speaker designs. The 3 Speaker model gets a dedicated subwoofer in the center, while the 2 Speaker boombox fits in a pair of 6-inch direct drive units. Besides this difference, the two Boomboxes come in a very retro-modern finish that perfectly gels the present to the era gone by. For the freshness for today’s audiophiles, classic rectangular shaped boomboxes have been embedded with touchscreen control panels, and feature a very attractive finish.

While everything on the boomboxes has been digitalized, still for that retro analog feel the boxes have power and volume control knob on the left side and another knob to toggle through the radio stations on the right. Expected to hit the market in February 2011, the two-speaker model will be priced at $399 and the three-speaker version could cost $499. Operated both on battery and electric charge, the boomboxes come with larger auxiliary port, USB, 3.5mm and RCA auxiliary ports to connect with a guitar, microphone or other music sources.
