System to help astronauts find their feet on Earth
Astronauts who spend days in space hovering around weightlessly obviously struggle more than a bit when they head back earthside. Why does this happen? Simply because of the astronauts forgetting to consider gravity as a factor while moving on the earth. Now NASA Researchers from the Johnson Space Center Neurosciences Laboratory and National Space Biomedical Research Institute plan to end all that with a contraption called the adaptibility training system. The system primarily consists of a treadmill and a huge screen in front. As the user walks or runs on the treadmill, the screen will create obstacles by tilting the treadmill in the opposite direction of the image. This, NASA's scientists hope, will train astronauts to adapt to the gravity factor when they return back to the earth. Let's hope that this system works and the astronauts manage to find their feet when they head back to our planet.
