Wearable technology takes a twist the Indian way. All familiar with India know what a Saree is, and others who don’t, know what an iPod is. Thus, this blend of an iPod into the traditional Indian wear is a sublime fusion. Conceptualized by P Mohan, the Swaramadhuri as they call this singing Saree, is a Saree that features a built-in iPod and has eight micro-speakers embedded to its border. Created with a 2GB memory card within, good to support 200 songs, this one of a kind Saree can play stored songs for about four hours on the go. Besides the Swaramadhuri, P Mohan has previous created saris with sandalwood and small LED bulbs called the "lighting saree."
