SuperVision 250 crawls sewage pipes, makes repairing easier

With 850 billion gallons of sewer and storm water flowing through the never ending series of pipes every year, repair and maintenance is a difficult task. SuperVision 250 claims to be the God-sent savior that will walk through pipes filled with muck and help make repairs easier. The robot can work through pipes 10 to 72 inches in diameter, and using its shadowless LEDs and 10x optical zoom autofocus camera, it zeroes down on locations with debris, splits, corrosion and breaks.

To remain functional in such an inhospitable environment, Envirosight has given the lens a sapphire window shield, and made body parts out of hardened steel. The bot probably could have done better if it were wireless, but since it is not, the wire needs some extra protection. To that end, it gets a Kevlar-reinforced tether that allows it to travel up to 1640 feet.
