We are fast but we definitely want to do better than that. 1TB drives were fast and effective but Super Talent wants to be faster, so they introduced the largest capacity solid state drives at 2TB space. It’s cool they did it, and now they are shipping them our way. An opportunity for us to take home a super galaxy of storage space of course.
These superfast 2TB RAIDDrives SSDs, as they are called, don’t use the SATA interface that most SSDs do, as the RAIDDrive slips into a vacant PCIe slot on the mainboard. This PCI Express interface sets these SSDs leaps ahead of the existing SSDs when it comes to transfer speeds i.e. the RAIDDrives support read speeds of up to 1.4GB/s and write speeds of up to 1.20GB/s.
Super Talent is offering the RAIDDrives in three models targeted individually at entrepreneurs, workstations and the gamers of course. The 1TB RAIDDrive GS is priced at $4,999. Gamers may just find that out of reach.
