Earlier, we heard about the future printers that could spew out thousands pages per minute and a day back, we were talking about the Toshiba’s innovative printer that used single paper up to 500 times for the printing process. Let’s talk about scanners this time. You might know Kodak for its digital cameras only but they have rolled out a scanner dubbed i1860 that could be taken as a breakthrough as it is capable of capturing images at up to 200 pages in a minute. The implausible piece of technology can set the thame on fire for big firms.

Other than the captivating scanning speed, the i1860 scanner features an easy-to-use color touch screen panel, an automatic height-adjustment and easy-to-reach input and output areas. The scanner has been specially made for use in government and service bureaus. Other salient specs of the device are a high-resolution printer accessory, OCR applications, locking side guides for proper imprinting, three independent ultrasonic double-document feed detection sensors, a 500-sheet feeder, and firewire connectivity.

Hey, are you asking me the price for this inventive piece of technology? If I will say the price, that’s gonna make you tongue-tied. The Kodak i1860 is priced at £55,000 in England. And if we convert the figures into American currency, that comes out to be US $104,959.42. Hmm...seriously meant for big companies!

If they ask me to buy it, I will go for 40 or 50 middle ranged scanners rather than this heftily priced device.
