Steam Pumpkin – Steampunkish pumpkin that shoots steam

Steampunk has always been an inspiration for makers and creators to re-use and re-create. Combining the lust for pumpkin art with the savored Steampunkish attitude, Hans Scharler has managed this brilliant Steam Pumpkin for the Make: Halloween Contest 2009 (organized by Microchip Technology Inc. and MAKE in collaboration).

Halloween’s approaching and therefore the Steampunkish Pumpkin certainly deserves a reader, so just linger on. Done cobbling together everything he could find resonated Steampunk; Hans has fitted the pumpkin with motion detectors, LED lights and a fog machine. To make the creation more mechanical, the pumpkin detects motion and lights up to an evil red shooting steam out of its ears. Scary! Video after the jump.
