Spider drill robot drills with outrageous sounds
Some crazy robotic makes have passed under our scanning eyes, we have seen them drool, we’ve seen them move, some in style some just doing barely so, but never have we heard or seen a bot that drills. Fine with the drilling, what the freakin’ robot has six legs for the same purpose, indeed outrageous! Then, rarity is what earns laurels, and so we’re taking nothing away from the Brazilian genius Paulo Nenflidio. Known for making sculptures which sound in different and exciting ways, Paulo has this uncanny yet appealing robot drill spider exhibited at the Arizona State University Art Museum where it’s luring the visitors. Housing a pressure sensitive keyboard in the center the bot has each of its six hammer drills linked to it; on pressing the concerned key the dills being working with all kinds of sounds, the more pressure forced on the keyboard the faster the keys move, drilling all sorts of surfaces. Video of the driller after the cut.
