Spider-Dan scales 58-storey skyscraper with just hand-held suction cups

Most you may be familiar with Dan Goodwin a.k.a. Spider-Dan, who’s been climbing skyscrapers since 1981. For all who don’t, just like the Spider boy who climbs walls with his self-made vacuum machine, Dan Goodwin climbs these edifices’ with hand-held suction cups, sans any ropes and harnesses. Latest climbing adventure for Spider-Dan was the 645-foot Millennium tower, residential building overlooking San Francisco.

Dan was climbing the 58-storey skyscraper in a red jumpsuit and his favored suction cups, when cops nabbed him two floors below the top, but not before he would unfurl an American flag. In a statement on his website, Goodwin said, “he climbed the building to call attention to what he described as the ongoing vulnerability of skyscrapers to terrorist attacks. And to inspire patients battling cancer.”
