Not too many would have the guts to take a job with the bomb disposal squad. To make life safer for the brave men/women who go about defusing land mines and powerful bombs, Med-Eng has come out with the Spider Boot Foot Protection system. The whole system basically consists of raised platforms that attaches to the user’s boots. Users will have to step into the Spider Boot with their boots on which will be secured by very strong buckles. The buckles are fixed to the platform by four tough pods. The whole idea behind this contraption is to maximize the distance between the deminer and the bomb. This will significantly reduce impact if the bomb explodes as the Spider Boot will keep the person a few inches away from the bomb’s maximum impact zone. The best part of this system is that it has been successfully tested against anti-personnel mines and have been proven to reduce impact by four to five times as compared to other conventional mine boots.
