SpeakOn makes web accessible to the blind

Hooking up blinds to the Internet may seem an impossible idea to most of us, but not for Chris Mairs. The SpeakOn device created by Chris gives new light to the visually impaired allowing them to access Internet content without any computer skills. The dream machine will interpret the content via a screen reader and deliver MP3 music files, radio stations, podcasts and website content.

The $565 SpeakOn features an easily distinguishable 12 keys keypad for navigation and require a broadband connection. Chris Mairs is expecting to deliver the completed version of the device within a few months.
