It’s not everyday that we see musical hacks as the Speakatron - a mouth-controlled softsynth. This is a project from interaction designer Marek Bereza, who’s developed Speaktron software that picks a users lip movement on the webcam and converts the same into sound to play music. Created for Music Hack Day London 2010, the project bagged the first place for Best Music Hack at the event. Bereza offers the software for download and also makes the source code available in case you want to try to make a similar one yourself.
