Spaceship PC case mod lures me, you and a Star Wars fanatic alike

Star Wars showcased some of the most amazing spaceship designs mankind would have ever seen, and inspired us all to become a galactic superhero of the celestial. Stanislav Demchenko and his brother Vladislav from the city of Dmitrov are from the select few who took it up too seriously, and found a unique way to satisfy their adrenaline gush by designing a powerful Spaceship PC case mod. The design grabbed the third position in the Microsoft sponsored MSN.Ru competition and won plaudits from across the world. The modded spaceship included Windows Live Essentials; a photo album, movie studio, e-mail client program,etc. This spaceship mod also packs an antivirus for securing the essentials.

From ideation to execution of the project it was assured, that the design won't be a rigid flat ship. They checked 100s of designs and finalized Starship Luke Skywalker as their basic design. The resources required to make this design was; Duraalmin, mini-ITX Asus, AMD Phenom X6 1090, Gigabyte GF GTX470, 1280Mб 650, SSD 1.5Gb WD, shustraya Motherboard mini-ITX Asus, Processor AMD Phenom X6 1090, graphics card Gigabyte GF GTX470 with 1280Mb RAM, PSU Termalteyk at 650 watts, 4 GB RAM, SSD drive for faster boot and 1.5Gb WD for backups.

The designer brothers preferred a tough metal body of 1.5mm Duralumin for its frame. Duralumin is having its own advantages as it is more reliable and could run for decades. After hours of modeling the metal pieces were cut (by using a scrollsaw workpiece and conventional jigsaw) and placed with an adhesive tape. A high degree of precision engineering was achieved while crafting the exact size of billets and patterns of the wings. They used a rectangular box for fixing the motherboard miniITX which is having a separate space for power supply and video card. Ventilation to the PSU was provided by designing the hull of the entire model. Two 80mm Fans were used to keep the processor cool which pumps the air, via two 50 mm tubes. The pilot driving the device is a legendary R2-D2 robot who is sitting on a comfortable leather seat with all the necessary navigation facilities before him. They refereed to an coin minting technique for shaping the cabinet and other necessary pieces of metal.

A lot of metal was spent in designing the powerful guns of the spaceships, which can terrify anything living on the planet. The team also strictly adhered to the laws of aerodynamics while shaping the wings and powerful hydraulic actuators for effective maneuverability during any kind of flight. The Zalman cooler fitted in the interior further helps in the keeping the body cool. Lastly blue and silver strips of color was used to keep the craft in a semi invisible mode.
