cmos sensor sony

Sony has developed a full-frame 24.81 MP CMOS sensor in 35-mm format. As per Sony, the new sensor is capable of getting 6.3 frames per second. On other hand Canon’s 21.1MP EOS 1Ds Mark III is supposed to shoot at 5 frames per second and offers 14-bit output unlike Sony’s new sensor which is only offering 12 bit output.

The sensor’s main feature is its new conversion technique ‘Column-Parallel A/D Conversion Technique’, which ensures that each column of pixel on the sensor is treated by individual analog-to-digital converter. This helps in keeping noise levels low and allows faster A/D conversion. Other than that there is no information available regarding this sensor.
