Technology giants are always in an effort to give each other a run for the money. The Blu-ray player market saw Sony and Pioneer following the same trend. Sony has unleashed the flagship BDP-S5000ES Blu-ray disc players to subvert the presence of Pioneer’s equivalent, the BDP-09FD. The BD-live enabled player comes equipped with Ethernet capabilities and is empowered to deliver crisp, clear sound and picture quality. External flash memory port and included 1GB Sony Micro Vault carefully take care of the memory department.

Quick Start Mode cuts down on the boot-up time to approximately six seconds, which is a thorough outwitted feature among its former siblings. Sony’s new 14-bit HD video processor Super Bit Mapping technologies will let viewers grab every enriching bit of HD reality. The graphical user interface of the player will make navigation a breeze, and no wonder it drew inspiration from Sony’s XrossMediaBar (XMB) technology. This player will hit the retail stores in November with a price tag of $2000.
