The system is a combination of a high end multimedia PC and a 200-disc media changer/recorder. Both the systems work in tandem and are designed keeping the scarcity of space in your living room. Their black and silver casing will also add to the theme of your home.

All you have to do is connect the PC to a TV via a HDMI port and then control the system with a remote control. The PC is powered by Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition that ensures unique functionality when using the XL1 system's disc changer. Whenever you insert disc into the changer the system recognizes it and downloads the available metadata. For movies it downloads an in-depth review of the movie along with other important information like the star cast etc.

The best feature of the product according to Sony is its ability to easily organize, sort and access packaged content. The system also allows you to back up your music CDs onto the hard drive of the PC. With the touch of a button you can automatically and sequentially record up to 200 audio CDs from the media changer to the hard drive along with the downloaded album covers and track information.

With the system users can also record all your favorite TV programs and check them out whenever you have time. The system also informs you how many discs will be utilized for downloading the content; these shows can also be downloaded onto the available blank DVDs to watch them in your car while you are out for a trip.

The PC also houses some of the best hardware that is available till date. It comes with a powerful Intel Pentium D Dual-Core processor, ample DDR2 memory, PCI-E graphics and room for up to three SATA HDDs that are RAID ready. The interior of the PC is liquid-cool so you don't listen to that terrible humming sound while you are watching your favorite movie.

The package will debut sometime in August with a price tag of $2,300.
