Sony has been talking about BonusView and BD-Live for a while now and now they have launched two new Blu-ray players which will boast of their new technology. BDP-S350 and BDP-S550 will both support new Picture-in-Picture feature called BonusView. BDP-S350 is BD-Live ready and comes with an Ethernet port for upgrading firmware and accessing web-based content. Whereas, BDP-S550 will be BonusView and BD-Live capable and comes with 1GB of storage space though it van also be added to BDP-S350 as it’s also got an external port for that. It’s noteworthy that BD-Live players must have Internet/network connection, Picture-in-Picture (PiP), Audio mixing (secondary audio), 1 GB of storage and Virtual File System (VFS) in order to work. BDP-S350 will retail for $400 and BDP-S550 will cost around $500.
