Sony to Ship Blank Blu-ray Discs This Month for indigestible $30

You'll be able to get your hands on to Sony blank Blu-ray disks in Europe that will be shipped this month. But sadly you'll have to wait for the dual-layer versions, which will be shipped in the later half of the year. Though the single layer BD-R (recordable) disks hold a massive 25GB of data but the price tag of $30 will disappoint you. The BR-RE (rewritable) disks are priced at $36.

Gizmodo is a little skeptical with respect to the price of the disks and believes that it may not go down. But I think 'history always repeats itself' because new technology imbibes the price of initial marketing and supply and hence tagged higher, but slowly goes down.
