Sony’s 24MP Alpha A77 SLR expected to debut in mid-2011

Sony is developing a new very high end DSLR called Alpha 77 close in line with the previous Alpha A33 and A55. Shown so far as a prototype model, the Sony Alpha A77 would use translucent mirror technology, as the one behind the Alpha A33 and A55. The camera would have a new 24-megapixel crop frame sensor and use a Bionz processor related to the A33/A55 design. Other than that, the Alpha A77 will be supported with micro-adjustment of AF points, capture HD video recording up to 1080p at 30 fps and also feature a unique electronic view finder.

The camera would also be equipped with multi-format storage, including Compact Flash, Memory Stick and SD cards, and even allow two different storage formats to be used at once. The camera is expected to get shipped sometime in mid-2011.
