A great news for all the PlayStation 3 addicts, Sony has come up with a feature that will help its game lovers save their play in the “cloud”. The process which will be called “Online Saving” will be on hand as a part of the PS3’s forthcoming 3.60 firmware update. Whispered of making rounds even in 2009, cloud storage extends an alternative to upload their saves to a server distantly rather than a hard drive. An additive benefit of this storage system being not only does it save space on one’s hard drive, but at any time and anywhere a user wishes. It can also be pulled down to different consoles, as its tied to a PlayStation Network account.

But before you jump to conclusions, Sony has something at the back of their mind. The company plans to provide the best of both worlds only to PlayStation Plus subscribers. With a clause that the developers will have power to opt out and block them from playing their games if any need arises, because saving games to the cloud, "will allow save data with the copy prohibited attribute to be copied into the online storage".
So, all you PlayStation loyalists wait with bated breath till the company comes up with any more updates.
