Sony Cyber-shot cameras get 3D panorama shooting ability

Though cameras aren’t new to the 3D thick of things, yet Sony cyber-shot digital cameras with 3D ability are the first point-and-shot single lens cameras to make the slot. Two cameras, Cyber-shot DSC-TX9 and DSC-WX5, for all good reasons, have been stuffed with the ability to shoot 3D panorama photos. Besides the unique shooting feature, the two new cams, that replace the cyber-shot TX7 and WX1 respectively, carry the same features but with higher-resolution sensors and 3D Sweep Panorama in place of the Sweep Panorama found on the earlier Exmor R-based cyber-shots. The cyber-shots have Sweep Multi Angle option to captures a series of shots at different angles and then combine all for a single image, for viewing which the cams can be connected via HDMI to any 3D-ready HDTVs. DSC-TX9 and DSC-WX5 both capture videos in AVCHD at a resolution of 1,920x1,080 at 60i, and are expected to be made available in September selling for about $400 and $300, respectively.
