Sonic to display their anti-copying technology in CES
Piracy has been a big headache for the industry and continuous efforts are bein made to fight with the problem. Sonic Solutions has developed a foolproof technology that will help to prevent piracy. This copy-protection technology known as Qflix technology prevents illegal copying of movies downloaded from the Internet and burned to DVD.
Company has announced to display this technology at CES, it will be a great relief for the industry. Technology is very flexible and is duly compatible to the industries standard as it records the dvd with the same Content Scramble System, the encryption method used in commercial production. Sonic's software would also copy over the original digital rights management technology contained in the downloaded file, so that terms of use could be carried over.
The company is looking forward to launch a licensing and certification program that would place the Qflix brand on devices, discs and download services supporting the technology. Video recorders will feature the technology that ensures that users buy only the supported DVD formats.
