Soldiers can now duck bullets with the Individual Gunshot Detection system

Soldiers serving on the front lines in highly populated towns of Iraq and Afghanistan are very vulnerable to stray sniper attacks. Here is a contraption that could make their lies a little simpler by pointing them to the right direction. The direction we're talking about is the direction from which the gunfire originated. To find this direction, Soldiers can now clip on a device to their body. Dubbed the Individual Gunshot Detection system, this device has been developed by BBN Technologies of Boston. Sensors present on this device will sense the direction of the gunshots and will relay this information to a visual display within milliseconds of the shot fired. The visual display along a audio warning system will alert the soldier thereby helping him stay alive and fight back. Neat technology, we say.
