Softbank to introduce 3D-enabled Android-powered phones in Japan

Android is the fastest growing trend, therefore just everyone is making the best out of the platform. In the same league, Softbank is developing two handsets, the Galapagos 003SH and Galapagos 005SH, which are capable of displaying 3D images based on the Android 2.2 operating system. To display 3D images, the handsets will use Sharp’s parallax barrier method, which slits that partially block light, allowing the right and left eyes to see a slightly different image. The handsets show 3D images both vertically and horizontally and also are capable of taking 3D pictures. To be made available in Japan sometime in the end of 2010 or toward the spring of 2011, these phones will be a pre-installed with seven game applications.
