'Smart' suit for smarter and safer rescue operations
Those who know about 9/11, must be aware about the communication jam that led to burial of several rescue workers. But, now I-GARMENT has put everything needed during a rescue operation in 'Smart' suit that assures a permanent availability of service through satellite even to work across telecommunication systems, both terrestrial and satellite. That means even if terrestrial networks are unavailable due to either traffic congestion, the remoteness of the location or the destruction of the antennas, then even rescue operation can go on saving lives uninterrupted.

I-GARMENT's full-bodied smart garments has everything from position monitoring sensors to vital signals (temperature and heart beat) of the agents able to transfer all the information via a wireless link to Civil Protection Officers in the HQ, which will return to the field officers either via PDAs or TabletPCs. This suit mainly solves three major problems for rescue workers. Sending graphical information (maps, satellite data) to emergency teams, safety of workers with more information about their location and health condition and uninterrupted communication.

This smart technology certainly will receive a warm welcome in many rescue departments across U.S. for smart and safe rescue operations in the coming times.
