Smart fabric to record psychological information exposed at CeBIT

Hi-tech trade fair at Cebit has exposed a smart fabric developed by New Zealand firm Zephyr called bio-harness to monitor Psychological state of mind. This unique fabric gathers information on heart beat, skin temperature, posture, activity and breathing rate against the skin.

The product is made of patented textile with sensors woven into it that stores and broadcasts data to record physiological information and is expected to find its role in health, defense and medical markets.

For example, US Special Forces will soon wear this smart fabrics to enable their officers to monitor how they cope up during combat situations.

It can also be used by doctors on their subjects undergoing drug tests to see how their body reacts to a new medicine.
