smart dew droplet sensor
Engineers from Tel Aviv University aspire to miniaturize security sphere with their innovation the Smart Dew, a tiny sensory device, which is a suitable replacement to the conventional bugler alarms.

Functioning

The Smart Dew sensors are embedded with radio frequency transmitter/receiver and controller allowing the sensors to work in a network on the fence, floor or a doorknob wherever they are placed. The small and very cost-effective system works wirelessly, can be programmed for separate purposes and is deft in detecting and identifying humans, devices and animals. Capable of also detecting temperature, light and even carbon monoxide, the Smart Dew droplets send radio signals to the base station where the data is analyzed and the alarm is signaled out in writing or over the phone.

Pricing and usability

Costing only 17 cents a droplet, each Smart Dew sensor can detect in a radius of 50 meters, and because of no limitation to the number that can be used these droplets are capable of making good security agents in places where a high security personal are required. Owing to the size sensors in the Smart Dew can be vicious landmines with a varying purpose (here not killing but detecting).
