Amazon’s lowering the Kindle e-book reader prices; we thought we’d guess the reason right, but it seems this clone has made the difference. Perhaps too early to comment, but certain enough to mark this as a perfect knock-out to the Kindle.
Dubbed the Wefound, the e-book reader bears the same white skin and an identical 6-inch screen to that of the Kindle 2. With only slight visible alterations in keys on the keypad and the navigation joystick on the right of the e-book reader, everything else on the Wefound appears to be a Xerox of the Kindle.
Like the Kindle itself, using a SIM card, the contents can be directly downloaded to the Wefound over a cellular connection. If all goes well we could have the Kindle e-book clone selling in the Japanese market by the end of the year for a relatively cheap $210.
