Smart camera: Concealing privacy would be a reality soon

UC Berkeley scientists are working on camera, that is quite like a traditional camera that would automatically identify faces in the video but unlike an ordinary camera it would be able to cover their faces. The faces would be hidden behind an oval symbol to maintain privacy of people that are being videotaped. In short it will not be possible to tell that who is the person behind that symbol. This oval shaped symbol would be removed only if there is a crime at that particular place and CCTV footage is required to identify the culprit. The smart camera would also be capable of blocking the faces of those people who wear special badge like authorized employees. The idea is to secure buildings and to maintain privacy on video as well. Rightly so this camera would be known for its 'respectful' surveillance.
