SKIN: A beautiful emotion sensing outfit for future

Wear your heart on your sleeve. For most this is just a phrase in English, which means let everyone see your emotions but, the electrical giant Philips took this a step further. They designed SKIN, an emotion sensitive apparel so you never face any problem in expressing yourself.

As part of the SKIN project, Philips has designed two outfits - Bubelle and Frisson. Buebelle - the "blushing dress" is a fairy like gown with bubble like patterns that reflect the mood of the wearer much like the mood ring. The second outfit named Frisson is a body suit that works the same way. The apparels are made of two different layers, the inner one fitted is with biometric sensors while the outer one is made up of fabric. The biometric sensors sense the emotions that the wearer of the apparel is going through and project them on to the outer layer of the fabric in the form of different colors and patterns. For example, if you are stressed or in anger the dress would change its color to red and if you are calm it would turn green.

The emotion sensing outfit is a part of the SKIN Probe Project, which is a research program currently engaged in developing products and technologies that are not just "intelligent" but also "sensitive". This particular project is exploring the way technology would affect our lives 10 years from now.

The emotion sensing dress might prove to be very useful in understanding each other, learning to control emotions and understand the mood of a woman, which is always a mystery for the men.
