Designed by Jørn Knutsen, Einar Sneve Martinussen And Timo Arnall, Skal media player lets the user interact with digital media with the help of physical objects. All you have to do is, place objects in the wooden bowl in order to play back the related media. The wooden bowl is equipped with an RFID reader and is connected with the television. When you place any RFID enabled objects in the bowl, the corresponding media will be played without fail. This media player can also be used to control digital media like You Tube channels, home videos and even Flickr photo streams. And, before you pronounce the name wrong it is pronounced as ‘sko:l’, which is Norwegian for bowl.
