Simulating danger in a simulator that trains troops for bomb attacks

Roadside bombings have made driving in warzones, especially Afghanistan, the most hazardous task out there for the soldiers on patrolling. To train soldiers against the Taliban’s most lethal weapon, the improvised explosive device, or I.E.D., Pentagon has a simulator in place that uses skills from Hollywood to create a real like experience of being their amid the bombarding for the soldiers.

Dubbed the I.E.D. Battle Drill, the entertainment simulator prepares soldiers for the unpleasant memories out there in the open. It simulates an Afghan-like terrain in high-definition three-side display making the Humvee passengers as if they were riding in Afghanistan amidst hitting potholes or buried mines. This simulation is only one bit of virtual reality, 3-D technology and computer game software that the military is using to help soldiers responded better in bomb attacks and avoid getting blown up in other occasions.
