The biggest supertanker ever, the Knock Nevis is some 458 meters in length, now come to terms with the longest floating vessel that would be created to measure 468 meters in length. To be developed by Shell in a Korean shipyard, the mammoth vessel will assist as a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) plant transporting gas from Prelude gas field to Australia much easier it would be transported by gas pipeline. The vessel will go into production once it gets a go ahead from the Australian government after an environmental impact assessment. The installation of the vessel could very easily take about 5 years.
