Christened Autom, by Cory Kidd, a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), this is a 38-centimeter robot looks into the dieters eyes and provides feedback and encouragement on every little pound you lose.

The $500 talking bot (feminine voice) with a computer embedded within, switches on with a press of a button. After taking details of the user on its computer, the bot builds up a database of the dieter's strengths and weaknesses to then questions and suggests accordingly. To stretch upon their initiative for better sociable robots the developers are expected to come up with a touchscreen variant with speech recognition by next year.
