Sharp’s new technique of increasing LCD sizes gives birth to Slimline D64U

Sharp has always remained sharp on the innovation front and has proved its worth once again with the release of its new AQUOS D64U LCDs. The company has devised a new way to increase the size of the display without altering the complete size of the set by much. The result of this amazing technique is a LCD that is about 25% thinner and 20% lighter.

These LCDs offer 1080p-native with dynamic contrast ratios of 10,000:1 and improved black and red levels make them even more entertaining. The LCDs also boast of a 4ms response time and a 176-degree response time.

On the inputs front, there are three HDMI 1.3 inputs that will allow for better colors and an enhanced 7.1-surround sound delivers the sounds that you crave for. These LCDs are available in three sizes – The 42-inch one is priced at $2,100, the 46-inch one is priced at $2,700 and the biggest of them all the 52-inch one comes for $3,800.
