Sharp digital video camera is dead!

Sharp Corporation has pulled itself out of digital video cameras production and business owing to weak sales. Since April 2005 Sharp has suspended the production of its latest model - ViewCam that failed in front of big rivals with hi-tech digital video cameras that are compatible with DVDs, hard disks and other devices.

As per a Sharp spokesperson the company is not expecting any growth in the video camera market where its camera once sold like hot cakes. Also the company was not able to trap the emerging technologies at the right time to win the race and hence is planning to shift the funds to its growing television and LCD business.
