HDD’s may be reaching the TB stage in terms of storage capacity but has any one ever talked about the fastest HDD.
Seagate has unveiled there latest version of a fast HDD called ‘Savvio‘ which is a 2.5-inch drive that revolves at mind boggling 15,000 RPM.
The data retrieval time is just 2.9ms for this device.
It is also the most energy efficient just to add another feather in its cap and consumes 5.8 watts of power when idle than the 8 watts that the other HDD’s consume in idle state.
There are two options of 36GB and 73GB and it is already shipping in HP ProLiant servers.
