Scientists claim to bend liquid with power of light

According, to the study that will be published on Friday a group of scientists has discovered a new method to bend and direct liquid by using only the force of light.

This new invention is apparently said to be discovered by accident when scientist Jean-Pierre Delville observed a peculiar and unanticipated result after accomplishing its previous experiment with the same fluid (mixture of water and oil) under a less intense laser beam.

Mr. Wendy Zhang who works on study of fluids at University of Chicago was also invited into a lab to examine this strange concept to generate bulk flow in liquids. Mr Zhang said:

Because he has a lot of experience with optics, he realized that what he saw was strange.

As a result now the French and American physicists used a laser beam to produce a surprisingly long and steady jet of soapy liquid that was narrower than a human hair and when directed at a different angle, it pushed the liquid into a hump-like shape.

This is for the first time a laser has been used to create bulk flow in liquid through extremely narrow channels that could also lead to advances in biomedical and biotechnological research.
