When I saw this device initially, I cried for pure ecstasy. A USB Flash Drive with an LCD Screen was something I had been dreaming long about. I wouldn’t have to plug it in to know how much memory I had left. However, I had to be disappointed yet again. For the first time, the adage ‘Looks are deceptive’ has come agonizingly true. Who would ever want to buy a USB Flash Drive with an LCD screen that displays only the Brand Logo or the Company Logo? I do understand that promotional flash drives work big-time in the corporate world. However, for you and me, this drive is just another flash drive that is just flashier than the rest of its brethren.
Well, for the corporate honchos, this is a sleek alternative to their Branding materials like pens, lanyards, t-shirts etc. And this one is utilitarian, too. Good news for them is that the display is solar-powered. So, even if their company goes to the dogs, the ‘brand visibility’ would still not be hampered. For others, this drive doesn’t make much sense unless you are smitten by the ‘be different’ bug. And, I almost forgot to mention the capacity of this drive by Schwag. It is available in capacities up to 4 GB. Would that be any reason to get this drive? Well, I don’t see why you should prefer this one to your regular sticks.
