Without doubt, the latest development of HD DVD / Blu-ray have bring about a certain revolution in the electronics and entertainment gadgets, but the hot technology, with slow burners and sluggish write speed, too has few limitations.
Need not to worry anymore, for Sanyo has come up with a blue laser diode that could not only speed up data access in a huge way, but possibly reach write speeds of about 6x for dual-layer discs as well. The hot blue laser diode works nice with HD DVD and Blu-ray recorder as well.
Though, it is just a beginning, and may possibly be used in the hybrid writer in the near future (if not in use currently), but a step in the right direction.
