With all the advantages that flash drives provide there’s always a chance of losing the stored data. A regular backup on the hard disk is a possible hedge. But then it kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it? SanDisk seems to have the answer to this quandary. Partnering with BeinSync, SanDisk has added a very useful feature to its Ultra Cruzer Titanium Plus flash drive. This USB drive adds to the safety of data by providing a measure for automatic backup of stored data. As soon as the Ultra Cruzer Titanium Plus drive is plugged into a system that has an active online connection, it uses the pre-installed software to back up the data on a remote server. This data can then be accessed using a user-defined name and password. The data is protected using 256-bit SSL encryption and can be downloaded any time. To save the space, data is automatically transformed into zip files. This flash drive with additional features will only set your pocket back by $49.99. So far so good. The catch is that the automatic backup comes at a price—free for first six months but $30 (app) after that. If your data is precious enough to justify that price tag, certainly avail of this bonus feature—otherwise steer clear.
