samsung has yet again proved to perfection that it is indeed the development leader as far as flash memory cards are concerned. The electronics giant has announced its latest microSD memory card that comes with a record storage capacity- a whopping 8GB capable of storing 4,000 digital images, or approximately 5 DVD-quality movies.
MicroSD cards, which are almost 1/4th the size of an SD card, are widely used in today’s multimedia phones, and have backward compatibility with SD cards using an extender.
The new microSD card from Samsung comes with a reading ability of 16 Mbps and a write speed of 6Mbps, which is way ahead of the Speed Class 4 SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) standard which requires a write speed of 4MB/s.
Samsung’s new microSD card is set to revolutionize the flash memory cards scenario, and competitors need to to do their bit if they want to be in the run.
