Samsung Electronics emerges with another feast for technology geeks, with a tablet PC featuring a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED display, at the IFA 2011 held in Germany. It will be the world's first tablet PC to sport the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display, which Samsung and others have been deploying on smartphones for sometime.

AMOLED employs a technology in which the outermost layer that detects the touches of a user's finger is integrated into the touchscreen. In other displays, there is an overlay on the touchscreen. AMOLED brings more brilliant, crisp and elegant viewing experience. The display is illuminated with high-contrast colors also.
The new tablet PC from Samsung is called Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6200. The device’s display has a resolution of WXGA 1280 × 800 pixels. It means the device will provide better clarity than the company’s own LCD display-featured versions of Galaxy Tabs. Amazingly, thanks to the slim display technology, the device will be one of the lightest tablets in the market.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6200 features a 1.4GHz dual core processor. The device is 7.89 mm thin and has a weight of 335 grams. Further details about the tablet are not know yet. According to the South Korean technology maker, the new Galaxy Tab will be up for grabs in October or November this year.
Samsung has just launched the second generation of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in global markets. The tablet that runs on Android Honeycomb has been counted as a perfect alternative for Apple iPad 2. Of course, Samsung has an intention to beat Apple iPad 2 in the market with its feature-rich and slimmer second generation Galaxy Tab.
The IFA 2011 version of Galaxy Tab will offer more grip for Samsung in the tablet market. Though Apple is in constant lawsuit battles with Samsung, the former advances in the market with its new and fresh products. The new experiment to launch an OLED display-featured tablet certainly reflects the popularity of Samsung products in the market.
