Samsung rolls out first amorphous silicon 7-inch WVGA single chip LCD
'Smart phones don't carry extra flab', is the latest trend, and to fuel this manufacturers are coming out with components that can make the skinny dream a reality. The new Samsung 7-inch WVGA single chip LCD for mobile devices too is analogous to the concept, ultimately cutting off the surface area gobbled up by traditional 7' screens with multiple chips.

This first amorphous silicon (a-Si) screen will make compact multimedia players and navigation systems look deadly with its 800×480 pixels resolution, 450 nits, and 400:1 contrast ratio. Don't miss the first looks of the single chip seven-inch WVGA panel at the SID (Society for Information Display) Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco in June.
