Samsung readying high-performance 1GHz CPUs for mobile devices
Intensions are made clear with what you do. Thus, introducing high-performance and efficient processors for smartphones, Samsung has made its intensions of transforming the small device market on its head, pretty clear.
The company has showed off the new S5PC110 - 1GHz ARM COTEX A8-based processor for the smartphones and a similar configuration S5PV210 for notebooks. These high-end CPUs are embedded with 1080p codecs, HDMI 1.3 interface outlet and novel 3D graphic. Along with the mesmerizing power, the 45nm CPUs increase upon the battery life (efficiency) therefore, also contributing to higher performance.
Along with 3D life for gamers and some good High-def treat for viewers at 30fps, the processors, to enhance the real time web browsing capabilities are included with 32KB data and 32KB instruction caches along with a 512KB L2 cache. The CPUs will be made available to manufacturers by December, so I think we should start preparing to this novelty that’s coming.
