Samsung developing plastic-based unbreakable AMOLED displays

Samsung knows AMOLEDs are the future displays. They have already readied Samsung Galaxy S phones with the AMOLED screens to give some nightmares to the iPhone 4’s Retina Display, and now news roll in that the manufacturer is developing an unbreakable AMOLED display. Okay if we thought the AMOLED screens were fragile, soon you’ll be forced to think otherwise, when in two years down the line, Samsung has the unbreakable, durable and safe AMOLEDs are ready. To meet the demand of thinner and lighter plastic AMOLED screens, Samsung will place TFT panels on plastic panels, which will replace the existing vinyl protection sheet with PI, thus reducing light emission.
